Judgment has been reserved in the application to discharge charges against Julius Malema, and his bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman, in the East London Magistrate's Court. The two men are accused of discharging a firearm in public during the EFF's 5th-anniversary celebrations in 2018 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane. Their lawyer brought the discharge application, arguing that the state's case is insufficient and is full of inconsistencies. The state closed its case last week.
